The most popular holiday accommodation
and destinations in New Zealand

NORTH ISLAND

Bay of Islands

The Bay of Islands has the most sub tropical weather in NZ, with endless islands and bays to explore, all are accessed or ready to be discovered with or without the help of the many tour operations. We recommend the following most popular holiday homes in The Bay of Islands: "Pacific views", "Aomutu house", "Beachfront holiday home", "Riverside Cottage", and many more.

Northland

Northland has soft white sandy beaches on the east coast, and black sandy beaches on the Wild West Coast. Often referred to as the "winter less" far north! Many tourists travel by bus or car to the top farthest point of New Zealand being Cape Reinga. Population density is low and towns are scattered with basic services so ensure you stock up on food supplies in the larger rural towns of Paihia or Kaitaia, before checking into your holiday accommodation. Some of the most booked luxury holiday homes and boutique hotels on www.AmazingAccom.com are: "Richard and Julies," "Beachfront Luxury", "Unique lodgings", ...to name just a few!

Auckland

Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand, and you are never far from exciting things to see and do. Situated between the waters of the Manakau and Waitemata Harbours, dormant volcanoes dot the landscape and beautiful islands are sprawled out in the Hauraki Gulf. The dominant feature of the Auckland skyline is the Sky Tower - at 328m high, it's the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere. Located inside you will find one of New Zealand's best casinos, an observation deck and restaurant, and for the not so faint hearted - you can even Bungy jump from the tower! Auckland is a fantastic destination for the young and young at heart alike. The Auckland Zoo is a favourite with families, the Auckland War Memorial Museum tells the story of Kiwi soldiers involvements in past world conflicts, and upmarket villages of Ponsonby and Newmarket, or even Queen Street are first stops on the list for exercising the wallet and credit card! You will find many boutique and high-end fashion stores located here, along with plenty of trendy cafes and bars. For those who want a fine dining experience, head to any one of Auckland Waterfront's wonderful restaurants. For larger groups we recommend to book these luxury vacation homes online as they are central or within a 15 minute drive of the city; "Kohi Waterfront" "Penthouse 3 - Bridge Deck" and "Onehunga Quadrant. For something special and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, consider heading north to the Matakana Wine Region and stay at "Luxury in Matakana Wine Region", or "Luxurious country side accommodation", just to name a few!

Waiheke Island

Waiheke Island is heaven compared to the hustle and bustle of Auckland! Easily and safely accessed only 35 minutes away by ferry, taken from the bottom of Queen St, being the main street of Auckland city. Ferries depart frequently and usually hourly on the hour from both Auckland city to Waiheke, and from Waiheke Island to downtown Auckland city. See recommendations for Fullers ferries boat timetables and the Sealink car ferry. We highly recommend to stay for 3 nights and preferably a week or two, its just one of those places you cant leave and fall in love with, thanks to its safe and caring community, beautiful clean beaches, vineyards, coastal waterfront land, local artists, the Saturday market, and many fine cafes and restaurants. See our "recommendations" at the bottom of the homepage for more info. We have spectacular luxury holiday houses for rent online now that are located on or very close to the many amazing beaches: "Cam's house", "Brent's house", "Chriso's house", and "Amazing house", just to name a few of the most booked accommodation.

Coromandel Peninsula

Coromandel peninsula offers an abundance of lush green native NZ bush with walking tracks scattered throughout, and clean streams that lead to rivers down off the ranges through the valleys into the many amazing beaches and coves that you can then swim at. No trip to the Coromandel is complete without a visit to Hot Water Beach, where you can dig your own hole and then bathe in the hot thermal spring water whilst watching the waves break in front of you. Likewise a walk down to or a boat ride to Cathedral Cove has to be done, this stunning piece of landscape is a real slice of Kiwi Heaven! We recommend these luxury accommodation providers online here: "Beachfront lodge", "Absolute beachfront", Bush studios, and "The Peninsula waterfront retreat", but you will choose what best suits your needs and budget.

Rotorua

Rotorua is a must visit destination and is best known for its unique geothermal activity, related sulphur smells, bubbling hot pools and strong Maori cultural experiences. Tourists can also participate in a number of professionally run World-class adventure activities. In particular: the Luge ride, white water rafting, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, and all water sports. Rotorua really delivers fun and entertainment for everyone. Whilst visiting we recommend you stay for a minimum of 2-3 nights here and at these luxury holiday homes or lodges: "Bay house", "Lake Okareka Waterfront Estate", "Luxury lakefront lodge" and "Luxury lake Edge"

Taupo

Taupo and the greater Lake Taupo area is a lot like its neighbour Rotorua, as it has plenty of activities to do including hot pools, extensive lake water sports, Maori culture exhibits, geo-thermal activity, and has a good service base of businesses for shopping or administration purposes. The major difference is that the lake itself is massive in size and extremely clean. Taupo has the following luxury accommodation and boutique hotels providers online and ready to book now: "The landing", "Pt Villa 1", "The Top house" ...and many more!

Mount Ruapehu and the Tongariro National Park for skiing, mountain biking, and walks, including the most famous Tongariro crossing. New Zealands most walked one day walk. Mt Ruapehu is only an hour drive from lake Taupo and even closer to Turangi.

Wellington

Wellington is the Capital of New Zealand and the best little capital in the world according to its residents. "Wellywood" as it affectionately became known - owing to the Oscar winning local team of director Peter Jackson and Weta Workshops founder Richard Taylor's work on the acclaimed Lord of the Rings trilogy - was in part filmed in and around Wellington, and you can take day tours to visit some of the well known spots from the films. Hollywood and films aside, Wellington is a vibrant city, compact in size and hilly in most parts. Climb (walk or drive) to the top of Mt Victoria for superb 360° views of the city and out to the Cook Strait. If it's a fine day, you will see the peaks rising out of the water from the South Island. A must do for any visitor to Wellington is a day at the National Museum of Te Papa where you will get a fascinating insight into New Zealand Culture, Heritage and events from the past, present and future! Take the historic cable car up from Lambton Quay - a premier shopping street in the heart of the city to the beautiful Botanic Gardens. Wander amongst the native flowers, trees and shrubs and take in the peace and quiet of these beautiful gardens in the middle of the city. In the summer months, you can often catch a free jazz concert in the gardens - grab your picnic blanket, a nice bottle of wine and chill out listening to the smooth sound as it carries through the balmy evening air. There are plenty of safe swimming beaches - Oriental Bay in the heart of the city is the place to be seen. Courtney Place is where you will find the trendy bars, nightclubs and restaurants, and the Oriental Bay waterfront is always teeming with walkers, joggers and those out to enjoy the weather when it's at it's best. We recommend a minimum of at least 2 nights when visiting Wellington. It may be small in size, but it more than makes up for it in activities and things to see and do. We recommend these villas and luxury holiday homes for rent online: "Beachfront Oriental Bay" or "Mark and Margarita's", "Aces Villa", and many more.

SOUTH ISLAND

Nelson and Golden bay

Nelson and Golden bay are great summer hotspots! The days are long with plenty of sunshine hours and at your footstep is the Abel Tasman National Park famous for its extensive coastal golden beaches, native forest, amazing walkways, and wildlife encounters. Rainbow ski field is also in the Nelson region. We recommend to camp, kayak, walk, swim, or just relax in one of our luxury holiday homes like: "Villa on the Bay" or "Nelsons Village Cottage"

Marlborough

Marlborough is again a great summer spot. Take the Inter-islander ferry across the Cook Strait from Wellington to Picton (multiple sailings daily in both directions) and it will feel like you are in a different world. As the ferry glides through the Queen Charlotte Sound to Picton, you may be greeted by playful dolphins jumping in the wake of the ship, beautiful blue waters and lush green bush all around you. The sounds feature a wealth of adventure activities, from stunning walks along the renowned Queen Charlotte Track to sea kayaking and sailing amongst the many inlets. The Marlborough region is also home to some of New Zealand's best wineries and is a great weekend escape from the city. Come and taste our world-famous Sauvignon Blanc!

Hanmer Springs

Hanmer Springs is several years running the tourist voted 1st choice for the best hot pools and best day attraction that New Zealand has to offer! Need I say more you must stay in Hanmer for at least 2 nights, apart from the hot pools the golf course is amazing, mountain biking and walkways are fun for all ages and skill levels, and its just one of those hidden gems that has not been spoilt yet by massive developments. Mt Hutt & Methven

Mt Hutt & Methven is also very popular but offers less diversity in activities, services, and accommodation. An hour's drive north of Christchurch International Airport, it has the closest ski fields to the city. The region is well known for it's outdoor activities - in winter the area is teeming with winter revellers coming to ski and board at the Mt Hutt ski area, and in summer people come to simply enjoy the wide open spaces and clean, crisp air while out walking and hiking. There are a number of choices for holiday accommodation in Mt Hutt and Methven. These include boutique hotels and holiday houses, but are not limited to "Robert and Christine's Lodge", and "Golf Villa". Please search for our other accommodation now.

Christchurch is "the Garden City" and international gateway to the South Island. Located on the banks of the winding Avon River, with its weeping willows and grassy banks, the city is compact, flat and easy to get around. Take a stroll through the Cultural Precinct with its many attractions, visit Cathedral Square and take a photo of Chalice - artwork by a renowned sculptor, or simply wander the streets and lanes that offer designer and boutique shops and restaurants.
